CR SURGE VBC Fall tryouts
The final tryouts for the CR SURGE VBC 2025-26 season will be held Sunday, November 2, 2025.
U12, U13 and U14 will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
U15, and U16 will be from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The following positions are needed for each team:
U12 - Two athletes - We do not pigeonhole players at this level.
U13 - One athlete. We do not pigeonhole players at this level.
U14 - One athlete. Prefer a player with good passing skills who can also play in the front row.
U15 - One middle preferred.
U16 - One setter for a 6-2 line-up.
Ages
U12 players can be in 6th grade and 13 years old.
U13 players can be in 7th grade and 14 years old.
U14 players can be in 8th grade 15 years old.
U15 players must be 15 years old between July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011
U16 players must be 16 years old between July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010
When
The CR SURGE VBC club volleyball season starts with practice in mid-November and runs through the beginning of May. If teams qualify for Nationals the team will extend the season. We do not pay to go to Nationals without qualifying.
The summer training programs is two days a week for six weeks beginning the first week of June.

Practices are held at Elevate Sports, 4655 Tower Terrace Road NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402
Practices
Practices for U12, U13, are Monday/Wednesday from 5:15 - 7:15 p.m. November 17 through mid-April. U15 and U16 practice from 7:15 - 9:15 p.m. Monday/Wednesday from November 17 through May 3rd.
Games
All teams will play between 8 - 10 matches. U12, U13, U14 will play most matches on Saturdays. There will be several two-day weekend tournaments. U15 and U16 will play most tournaments on Sundays. There will be 3-4 two-day tournaments and one three-day tournament.
Jerseys
Jerseys are covered in the team fee. Players provide their own shorts, knee pads, elbow pads.
Extra Costs
Families cover the cost for travel to include hotel room as needed and pay for individual admission fees to tournaments.
